Rev. Father Ioannis Krokos Proistamenos.
Father loannis Krokos, was born in St. Paul Minnesota on November 8th 1981 to parents Jerry and Susan. He considers himself fortunate to have grown up as a member of the Holy Anargyroi Church in Rochester, Minnesota where he served as an Acolyte under Father Nicholas Kasemeotis.
From an early age father had a calling to serve the community as an Orthodox Priest. After high school, he went to Junior College where he studied Liberal Arts for two years in which he received an associate of Arts degree. After two years he transferred to Hellenic College. Studying at Hellenic College has been a rewarding experience; it has helped him to better understand his Christian heritage and to further focus his spirituality. While attending Holy Cross he traveled to Greece and took Modern Greek at Aristotle University. While in Thessaloniki, he met his wife Presbytera Photini, who at the time was taking classes at the same university. She is a Greek Orthodox Christian from Amman, Jordan and is under the Jerusalem Patriarchate.
Father Ioannis and Presbytera Photini were married four years ago in Presbytera's home in Jordan. Presbytera comes from a Large traditional family of Greek descent; she has two older brothers who live in Xanthi, Greece. She is a college student and prays to finish her degree in law.
Father loannis was ordained to the diaconate on January 27th, 2008 and graduated from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology with a Masters of Divinity. He was elevated to the Priesthood on July 27th, 2008 and served as an assistant priest under Father Michael Eaccarino at St. Nicholas Cathedral in tarpon Springs. Father and Presbytera look forward to serving at Holy Trinity Church in Port Charlotte and the holy Metropolis of Atlanta!
